Day 3
Today was our first day on the work site. We arrive at the worksite around 8:30 a.m. Our contractor, who is supposed to help us with anything building related has a background in architecture and no building experience. Our first order of business was replacing a window. With no real knowledge of what to do, it was slow going.
Mainly, I worked on taking off the siding surrounding the window. This involved taking hundreds of nail staples out that held down the siding. After that we had to chip away at the glue and caulk holding the window in. After hours of hot, painstaking work we were able to take the window out. Next we took the new window and caulked it into place. By the end of the day, we were able to replace one window, which put us behind schedule.
